Caves with management committees or controlled by clubs or individuals
A number of caves are kept locked for various reasons including the conservation of their geology and protected species such as bats which may be present at various times of the year. Follow the cave management or club contacts in the site list below. In a few cases in the Forest of Dean, an individual controls access. Some caves have a leader system where either you approach a leader from a published list or the cave management committee will find a leader to help you.
The landowners have asked that visitors call in at Llwyncilsanws Farm (SO039105) before using Ogof Y Ci and that cave visits are only during daylight, so no evening trips please.
Contact the CCC Access-Conservation Officer to arrange an access permit from the Castlemartin Firing Range management. Access is restricted to dates and times when the range is not in military use.
Ogof Capel
A leadership system is in place and cavers should in the first instance contact one of the people on the leader listto arrange a visit. Contact the CCC Access-Conservation Officer in case of any difficulty. Note that this cave is closed in 2019 during the construction of the A465 dual carriageway Clydach Gorge middle section.Dan yr OgofDan yr Ogof Conservation Advisory Panel
